The MiniTest 2500 (supplied without probe) is not only useful in the laboratory but also suitable for industrial applications thanks to its robust IP 65 housing. It features a USB output for connection to laptops and PCs.
A wide range of measuring sensors is available, allowing it to handle both standard applications and more complex measurement tasks. The range of application is determined by the sensor connected to the gauge:
  • type F sensors operate on the principle of magnetic induction and can measure non-magnetic coatings such as paint, enamel, rubber, aluminum, chromium, copper, zinc, etc., applied to iron and steel (including steel alloys and hardened magnetic steels). Measurements up to 50 mm thick
  • type N sensors operate on the eddy current principle and measure insulating coatings such as paint, anodizing, ceramics, etc., applied to all non-ferrous metals (e.g., aluminum, copper, die-cast zinc, brass, etc.), including austenitic steels. Measurements up to 100 mm thick
  • type FN sensors combine both principles and identify the substrate beneath the coating, automatically switching to the appropriate measuring principle for measuring steel or non-ferrous metals. Measurements up to 1600 µm possible
  • heat-resistant probes up to 250 °C and 350 °C respectively
  • pen-shaped probes for measurement inside tubes.
  • all probes are equipped with wear-resistant poles and have a long service life, even when used on aggressive substrates.
It features a large data memory to save up to 2 million values, either in Direct mode or categorized in an APPL-BATCH database (MiniTest 4500 only), and the data is transferred to a computer via a USB interface.
